SCHOOLWIDE INTEGRATION FOR EFFECTIVE SCHOOL COMMUNITIES

LAUSD > Special Education > Professional Development > Schoolwide Intergration for Effective School Communities

Background: The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (1997/2004) requires that students with disabilities be provided with an opportunity to be educated within a general education setting to the maximum extent appropriate (20 U.S. C. § 1412 [a] [5] ). Federal law intends that students with disabilities be educated in schools they would attend if they did not have a disability.
